Stoke Gifford Medical Centre Extension/Refurbishment
The extensions included a DDA compliant entrance and lift to provide patient access to a range of first floor facilities, and were designed to be built in four consecutive phases so that the surgery could continue to function throughout the works.
The refurbishment created a greatly improved environment for staff and patients with high levels of natural light and ventilation. The whole building fabric was thermally upgraded and the services renewed with a heat recovery system to reduce future running costs.
New courtyards were introduced to provide daylight into the circulation areas and the expanded waiting room. A new pharmacy was added as part of the extended services, with direct access from the waiting room as well as from outside
